THE LATEST arrival at Wearside’s hi-tech Rainton Bridge Business Park is helping its clients play it safe three times over.
PCI Services offers businesses a unique, three-pronged approach to resilience, combining IT, Fire and Health & Safety that protect people, technology, and physical environment from damage – intentional or accidental.
PCI has been established by Joe Olabode, a former Director of Gateshead-based IT company ITPS, and Eddie Cairns, whose 20 year career in the fire service included 11 years as a fire officer, plus key offshore firefighter training and community safety roles.
Its expertise has already attracted several leading business names onto the client list, including motor specialists Jennings Ford, NHS organisation Northumberland Care Trust and international recruitment firm NRL.
Joe explained the company’s unique approach: “During my years of experience of helping clients align their ICT investment with their business needs, I became aware of surrounding issues such as fire and health & safety, which are equally important in business continuity terms and which need to be addressed to protect an organisation and make it truly resilient.“
“While our services can be accessed individually, business continuity management should be a holistic activity that forms a strong ring of protection around an organisation, guarding against all areas of potential disruption.“
“Our research showed there was no-one in the North East offering this unique combination of consultancy and services, and the response we have had so far shows there is a real need for our expertise.“
Eddie added: “Most organisations recognise the need to comply with Health & Safety legislation but see it as a red tape that has no real business value.“
“We aim to change this perception – effective fire, health and safety policies and procedures promote a positive safety culture, leading to a more productive environment. Staff who feel valued and appreciated stay loyal and motivated, reducing turnover and helping improve the bottom line.“
David Armstrong, newly-arrived as Senior Health & Safety consultant, brings with him 20 years’ experience within the Health and Safety Executive.
